Firstly and importantly, Krsna is a person who loves to sing his heart out and would keep on going until he has sung all the songs that say how much Shalini means to him. Shalini on the other hand has her unique way with the spatula when she bakes masterpieces, which are no less exemplary than those songs. Together they make the perfect couple, fit for a love story in a Disney movie.

The cool and pleasant morning of 9th December, 2020 saw the preparations for "Gaye Holud" commence at the famous Girish Bhavan, Bhowanipore in which resides the biggest joint family that we have ever seen. The sight of everyone working in sync for a event, gave us chills as it was something one of a kind. And just like the preparations, the event outdid all the effort.

As the gifts from the groom’s house arrived, "Gaye Holud" was to take place on the bride's side where all the beautiful ladies were dressed up in yellow sarees and gentlemen in yellow kurtas which gave it an even more aesthetic vibe. As the rituals followed the vibrant yellow holud was graciously applied on each other with nothing but pure joy. The cold water trickled down the bride’s forehead fully drenched Shalini.

The two tied their knot on the greens of a beautiful bungalow in Kolkata, called JM’s Villa, an elegant two storey with the classiest white on its walls and an irresistible green lawn in front of it which were further enhanced in beauty with decorations. As dusk fell upon the JM’s Villa it lit up like the most beautiful Christmas tree and the star on the top were Shalini and Krsna, both in the traditional Bengali wedding attire of a red benarasi saree and dhoti and kurta looking straight out of a fairytale.

After some rituals in the "mandap", the both of them came out in the open lawn beneath the “chhadna-tala” which started with "Shubho Drishti" where traditionally the groom and the bride were to look at each other for the first time, admiring how correct their decision of marrying each other was. It was followed by a cheerful and joyful "Mala Bodol" which signified a lot more than just an exchange of garlands.

As the evening progressed, the couple sat in the mandap still looking at each other in total awe whenever they got a chance to while the pandit-ji performed the rituals.

Surprisingly a first for us, we got to know that "Sindur-daan", which usually happens as the last ritual of a wedding, was to take place the next day at the groom’s house to maintain a years' old tradition.

After the "Sindur-daan", which took place on the "thakur dalan", the evening was in for a surprise with a cultural function which portrayed the absolute bursting talent of the family members of Girish Bhavan.

The next day was the wedding reception which resulted in Girish Bhavan being decorated like a palace of the dreams with the bride and groom sitting in front of this beautiful floral background.

The end to this wonderful evening was accomplished by some beautiful couple shots of the perfect duo. As their wedding photographer it was a pleasure to witness this grand event which had its good moments and then had its best.
